I have been away for a week and have started to scrobble a lot from an iPod, but my eclecticism remains. I do pride myself in having a wide range of things that constitute as interesting to me which aren't limited to the constraints of teenagehood and social norms, but I do still exclude myself from several genres, maybe just for efficiency (cock rock, classic rock, modern popular rap (it's just a minstrel show now) etc). The sudden aesthetic violation of last.fm's is definitely a grand bork in itself, tho'. I'm visiting this place far less personally. Oh, and I'll also leave off by saying I also admire your selection of artists! I have heard few of what's featured on this page, but the expanses of sound they cover are admirable.

When and whence did I lose my eclecticism? It never occurred to me that I ever stopped being hip!

I wish I could say I had a great story to tell you! The MEO 245 track "Jewels" appears on a compilation called "80s New Wave and Beyond" and this is the only track I own, so I can't call it a real "discovery" at this point. It's a great song, I'd love to hear more from this band!

Auw, I'm very sorry to hear that. And you do have a point. Faust got into Manchester anyway playing with chainsaw against a kit of salvaged metal at one point in the concert, which succeeded in dividing the audience, but it shows.

That's excellent! It'd probably be hard for a group of people to even get angle grinders and sledge hammers over to other countries in these days. However, I hear in their newer stuff they've completely packed in all the metal?
