  • D: and when a Band Changes their name?

i'd like to know if there's a way to update on my songs that have been scrobbled (and are in my charts now), when a band changes their name (i have been listening to a song like hundreds of times, and the band changed their name recently... so now when the song plays, it shows a different name, as if it were another band with the same song name..) i don't know if i'm explaining correctly (english is not my mother tongue.. so... xD)...

band in mention is : The Cadets

now they changed their name to: Slides

i don't want my scrobbling to start from 0 again X_x!

i have one song of them n°1 in top tracks...

    o.o any ideas?
Ô_Ó Peruvian At Heart, listening to Chicha, Metal and Korea-anitos.. xD

Do you mean you have tracks in your charts attributed to The Cadets and now you have the same tracks attributed separately to Slides? I suppose they should be merged.

Interestingly, if you look at my Reco journal this week I mentioned Cousteau had to release one of their albums under the name Moreau in the USA for legal reasons. When I played the album, the tracks are tagged 'Cousteau' before the track name on the American release. On my Recently Listened, they appear as 'Cousteau', not 'Moreau', so they must have been merged.

  • Plus when some bands change names even though some of the members stay the same the music may be different; and they may change again after that.

Think of the Jefferson Airplane -> Jefferson Starship -> Starship chain.
Listen to PlaySomebody to Love then PlayNothing's Gonna Stop Us Now and tell me that isn't one of their weirdest name-change/relationship chains ever.

One of the exclamation mark bands dropped the exclamation mark from their name recently, in a bid to disassociate themselves from other exclamation mark groups and to appear grown up I think ( lol ). Was it Panic At The Disco? Yes! Panic! At the Disco and Panic at the Disco. Doesn't look like the 'new' name has any streamable tracks and there's some overlap. It all looks a bit confused if you ask me. This is wrongly assigned for a start, it's quite old, definitely pre-2008.
