Ability to dismiss free mp3 page artists...

I was wondering if you could add the ability to banish some of the suggested free mp3 downloads in the Recommendations section the way you can delete them from your band recommendations, or, perhaps implement some kind of ability to filter recommendations by keyword. I've been getting some *uh* interesting mp3 recommendations lately that I'd love to get rid of...

    I like this idea
  • Would be great and if they do it they could also make it possible to dismiss videos.
  • Would be good, I'm sick of my list containing the same things, with last.fm unable to tell what I've already downloaded. I'd like to tick them off and get new ones.
  • subscribe to the podcast and get new ones that way.

I recall someone had problems with subscribing to the podcast. Don't know if it's fixed now. They said their iTunes was downloading the same tracks every day. Put me off trying. Does it work now?

In my case, I got some recommendations that were a bit (ok, a lot) offensive to most normal humans, and I'd kill to get rid of them. Well, not kill, exactly, but... I'd love to have a user-defined filter that excludes words like "Aryan." ;-) With regular recommendations, I can just dismiss the band, but with the "free" ones, I'm stuck looking at them until last.fm decides to do a page refresh.

Where? Why would I want a podcast instead of a list?

A podcast is a list, albeit one that automatically downloads media to your computer. If you use iTunes or something similar , you can review the tracks as they come in, delete at will, and not have to bother with the non-interactive version of the same thing on the actual site. Admittedly the Last.fm links would be missing, but all you need do is play the track and click the appropriate link in the Last.fm client.

was looking a this exact kind of idea in the forums

i have been looking at the exact same free mp3s for the past 3 months :(

they add like one song randomly but that's it.

i have to admit i didn't try to subcribe to the podcast.

i'll see what it's all about and post
  • yeah that' d be cool... ive had the same recommended songs forever

i tried the podcast and it works

but it would be more interesting to dismiss the free mp3 from the website directly

    It would also be good...

... if free mp3's were automatically removed when they were scrobbled by the user.

Or if the mp3 download page was split into two by whether the artist was in your library or not.
