played count issue ... or some such?

  • played count issue ... or some such?

I'm not exactly sure what this would be called, so I'll just explain my situation:

I mostly listen to music away from the computer with my ipod (I'm sure there's lots of people who do this). Then, when I sync my ipod with my itunes, it collects the data on what songs I listened to that day, and how many times ... right? Then... how can I get last.fm to pick up on this info and adjust the counts on my (## played) under my library artists??

I looked all over for a button/setting for updating my library counts from my itunes but couldn't find anything. Also checked the faq... but maybe I'm just not aware of what this issue is called in your special scrobbling jargon, lol.

Thanks in advance for any help!
  • No one can help me with this??

    You want to scrobble?
I think you want to install the last.fm client software:
    http://www.last.fm/download
  • No, I scrobble just fine. I want my "played" count to update from my itunes when I listen to music off line, and then come back on line at the end of the day. I listen mostly on my ipod away from the itunes that I usually sync it with.
  • The software client allows for iPod scrobbling.

There are other plugins that also allow for iPod scrobbling. iScrobbler, iSproggler and a few others as well.

So you should be able to attach your iPod and register it with the client software and have it scrobbled.

Preferences -> iPod and select the buttons to enable scrobbling of the iPod.
  • Apparently the original client I'd been using decided to scrobble my ipod on it's own just now, whereas it hadn't before. Thanks for the help :)
