for those commenting about the sound mix, believe me, this is the way they are supposed to sound, the vocals are intentionally low in the mix, so you can barely hear them sing. I do think it was ridiculously loud

Well, if you must know, i would've expected someone with any basic knowledge of technology to be able to utilize it in a creative and meaningful fashion, not just aim-in-the-general-vicinity-of-the-stage-and-push-the-shutter. Besides, cell phone cameras are shitty, which was kind of the point i was making, which i guess you missed.

The wall of noise in 'You Made Me Realise' was the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. It was like being emersed in incredibly tingly water while having your mind fucked by nosie and light, resulting in an almost meditative state. I'll quote Get_Fighted, "I have been fucked in the ear by God. "

i hardly wore earplugs (the only time was during like the last five minutes of the "holocaust") and i was front. my hearing is almost back to normal. bilinda looks so young.

Stonefree, what you just said offended jews everywhere. HAHA. No, I know what you mean. I had this weird moment during that part of the song, where all my senses heightened. I looked over and I saw the threads of someones sweater unravelling thirty feet away. The vibrations also seemed to have sort of the same effect as binaural beats. I think they play it to make people high. It's a psychoactive experience. What other band than My Bloody Valentine could make its audience trip balls with just sound?

I'd rank that among the most spiritual moments of my life, witnessing all of the Holocaust. It saddens me that I won't be able to properly explain it to people who weren't there.

I agree about the earplugs. For most of the concert I kept one earplug half-way in (the ear closest to the speakers) and kept my left ear open, and it was a lot better w/o the earplugs. Musicians I've talked to say that there was no way Kevin's vocals could have been audible, considering everything that was going on and the feedback from the...six (?) amps right behind him. I don't know musician-speak, and I'm not claiming to be any sort of authority whatsoever, but I was expecting the mix to be off and just took the show for what it was. The wall of sound was good for me. And @ sickening_wreck: that's was my exact response. So blissfully disorienting in every way.

holy fuck, this was an amazing show. the holocaust was INCREDIBLE. it was an aural, physical and mental experience. i kept my eyes closed for most of it with my hand on my chest feeling my bones shake, just in a daze.. it was just complete bliss.

the holocaust section was indeed amazing, but i thought the concert overall was a little disappointing. the mix was kind of bad. the guitars sounded great, but kevin's vocals (and bilinda's to a lesser extent) were basically inaudible, as was bass. i mean, it was awesome just to stand thirty feet away from bilinda and kevin, and i enjoyed it but i don't think i would pay fifty bucks to do it again. and it would've been fun to hear loomer, but i don't think they even play that live? also, it sounded much better without the earplugs.
