I am pretty sure Andrew Bird just gave the show of his life tonight. I loved the spontaneous stage-rushing. Pretty much the most amazing night I've had in a long time.

We rushed the stage for Fake Palindromes. So much energy, so much fun. He's been practicing... everything sounded great.

incredible show. we were on the lawn and the sound was still perfect - such an amazing venue. and the visual projections were beautiful. my favourite was the accompaniment to "lull" with the squid love affair sequence. does anyone know whether those giant victrola-like sound cones projected sound?

Northwestern student here who believes that this concert is one of the strongest arguments against the quarter system. I won't even be in the Chicago area until more than a week later.

There are no season ticket holders for this concert because it's not associated in any way with the Grant Park Symphony, so I'm assuming the entire front seating area is open first-come, first-served.

for the decemberists, if you were there very early, you were allowed free admission to the seating area to take the remaining seats. no seats are sold, the only surefire way to have seats is to have season tickets. this concert will definitely not be as crowded as the d's one, but i'd bet there'll still be a great deal of people. getting there several hours early is going to be the most beneficial.

I went to Decemberists and since it was a show with the symphony orchestra, many people had "season tickets" therefore had reserved seats. I think tickets were sold for the rest of the seats. If you wait a while, they open up the leftover seats to people towards the front of the lawn. Andrew Bird could be different, though.

i don't think they are selling any seats, just first come first served

Anyone know how they are going to sell the seats for this show? I know the lawn is free. Anyone know how they did it for The Decemberists?
