Jog on you little bitch. What because you dont say a phrase means no one does? Many people use mug and twat off. Im not being childish I just think your a idiot and I have a right to shout this

DuFletch wrote:
No. You have (and continue to) act like a child becuase you told to "twat off" (who even says that?), "mug" (again?), and a "muggy cunt". oooh. interesting variation of the standard mug there. Just stop it.

I still love REM, but was just annoyed, just as you would have been if they didnt play the song you wanted to hear the most. But they are a band, like many others who havent really made anything in the last 8 years worth shouting about, should do like Rage and just tour, there starting to lose it. So what Im a child just because I dont share the same opinion as you, what a muggy cunt. Aye Busted are dated, but still enjoyable to listen to. They wouldnt have the same effect if they played now I believe

Decent enough gig but I'm not the biggest fan and thought it was a little bit on the lengthly side. Stipe was getting incredibly into it though - you can't fault him for enthusiasm! They haven't played Everybody Hurts at live gigs in the last 2/3 years, to my knowledge, I guess it doesn't really suit the mood.

If one had to say a song by R.E.M. that was dated "Everybody Hurts" may just be a top pick. Because of it being played contstantly in the 90s and not exactly being a close relative to the more pioneering harder alt rock that made them famous. But hey, whatever, I can't be arsed to argue with you anymore - you're clearly a bit of a child.

They're not as dated as your beloved Busted ...

They did look dated, but doesnt mean I didnt enjoy it, you can see that there old men now, compared to other bands of the era there stage performance isnt strong. Playing everybody hurts has fuck all with them being dated. Its my fav song, so Im going to be annoyed they didnt play it, so go twat off you mug

DuFletch wrote:
nathamania, first you moan about R.E.M. being dated and then that they didn't play Everybody Hurts. Make your mind up. Are you just looking for an arguement?

I was listening to an interview with Mike Mills on radio5 a week ago and he gave the reasons the band doesn't always play everyone of the bigger hits like everybody hurts and nightswimming. And if the band has reasons that they don't always want to play the same songs over and over fair play. I'd preffer to hear some of the well known songs but also some of the earlierstuff that isn't done at every gig. I've seen REM six times now and that was the best of all the gigs i've ever been to.

Yeah I didn't miss Everybody Hurts either; and there was acoustic versions of Let Me In and I've Been High to satisfy the need for a few softer spots. Fantastic show, does anybody know the Editors' setlist?

You got the classics ... i'd rather have an encore comprising of Losing My Religion, Perfect Circle, It's the End of the World and Man on the Moon then having Everybody Hurts there. Too slow really and you got your "lighter ... well phone moment" with Electrolite anyway. Glad Everybody Hurts wasn't there.

nathamania wrote:
To not play "Everybody hurts" is a joke. Why do bands not play there best songs? We buy the albums, but we want to see the classics

R.E.M. were brilliant - I passed up an opportunity to see them play by Loch Lomond about fifteen years ago and I've regretted it ever since, so it was superb to finally catch them live. Stipe continues to be a great showman, and the atmosphere at Twickenham was superb!

Ah, what a great gig! Enjoyed that so much! Country Feedback, One I Love and End of the world as we know it were all amazing. Guillemots and Editors I can take or leave, but REM really sounded great, it was expensive but worth every penny.
